Video brings back memories
I just completed making a video for my wife’s 70th birthday. That’s right, I said “70”! It covers from her baby picture to our high school dating, college, marriage, kids, and, what do I call it, old age?… yikes, let’s call it experience.
It was eye-opening looking back at all those years. We were so young and thought we knew so much about life. The fact was, we knew very little. Somehow we muddled through, learning to become teenagers, then learning to become adults, then learning to be a married couple, then learning to be parents… and now learning how to deal with arthritis, Leuk, and other fun stuff.
But, damn, we were good-looking! Now when I shave I wonder who replaced the mirror with a video of a wrinkled old man.
I still have a 35-year-old in my head. When I see something heavy that needs lifting, the 35-year-old brain says, “Sure I can lift that.” But my 70-year-old back says, “Ah, no, I don’t think so.
Sigh. At least we have each other. And, added blessing… I’m still above the grass.
So glad you are back…..I’ve missed your writing.
Thanks, Sheila. Yeah, it was time to give the paid gig a rest and contribute to my original blog. Thanks for being such a faithful reader!
